Richard Pinches is a Second World War desert living historian whose passion was ignited by his father’s wartime tales of serving there. He is also the co-presenter of the Desert Dispatches podcast with fellow historian Crispin Thomas.

Since 2017, Richard has been leading tours to North Africa through his company, Western Desert Battlefield Tours, where he uses his expertise and enthusiasm to guide guests as they “walk the ground” of the desert campaign.

As if that were not enough, he also serves as chairman of his local Royal British Legion branch and Poppy Appeal organiser. This role reflects his enduring commitment to keeping the stories of veterans alive.

Richard will be joined by Crispin Thomas on stage to talk about Ralph Bargnold and the Origins of The Long Range Desert Group.
